This summit is something I’ve dreamed of for years. To have our community of NeuroVisual Specialists come together to learn, connect, and grow is incredibly meaningful.”
In the heart of Santa Fe, under wide open skies and surrounded by the quiet buzz of curiosity, something extraordinary took place. The first-ever NeuroVisual Medicine Summit brought together a national network of trailblazing optometrists, visionaries, and healthcare partners in a moment of reconnection, reflection, and reinvention.
From the very first words of Matt Rosner’s keynote — “You are the future of NeuroVisual Medicine” — you could feel it in the room: this was a moment of transition. A turning point. The energy carried a sense of crossing into something new.
A milestone in the growth of a field that didn’t even exist a decade ago.
A milestone in awareness, with over 24,000 BVD Symptom Questionnaires completed in the last year alone — a staggering 600% growth since 2020.
A milestone in community, as practitioners from across the country gathered not just to learn, but to celebrate the movement they’ve built together.
A New Chapter in Care
Matt’s keynote invited attendees to look back — and then forward. From humble beginnings, when the NeuroVisual training was five days and a phone number for support, to today’s comprehensive 12-month curriculum and the launch of official Board Certification, the evolution was clear.
And it didn’t stop there. From the newly redesigned 3rd Edition Manual, to the long-awaited arrival of therapeutic microprism lenses developed specifically for BVD care, every announcement pointed to a common thread: better tools, better outcomes, better access.
But perhaps the biggest shift was cultural. NeuroVisual Medicine isn’t just gaining traction — it’s gaining recognition. Across platforms like TikTok, Reddit, and Facebook, patients are finding answers they never had. And now, with the upcoming launch of the NeuroVisualMedicine.com patient website, that growing demand has a direct line to care.
Community in Action
Throughout the summit, a deep sense of connection permeated every session, meal, and workshop. There were laughs. There were tears. There were hard conversations and lighthearted ones. But more than anything, there was a shared sense that this work matters — and that those in the room were shaping its future.
And the venue? A star in its own right. The team at La Fonda on the Plaza exemplified what Matt calls “unreasonable hospitality,“ referencing ideas from the book by Will Guidara. From preemptive care to personalized service, they didn’t just meet expectations — they redefined them. Special thanks to the entire La Fonda staff for creating the kind of environment where high-touch service met soul-level warmth.
Partners in Progress
Vendor partners brought a new level of collaboration. Companies like BluTech Lenses, Anagram, MODO Eyewear, Cherry Optical Lab, Roya.com, Teem, and Physician’s Liaison didn’t just staff their booths — they rolled up their sleeves. They joined meals, co-led sessions, and shared insights in a format designed for genuine connection, not pitches.
By removing the awkward sponsor-attendee dynamic and replacing it with shared intention and real dialogue, the Summit modeled a new kind of partnership — one grounded in value and driven by shared purpose.
What’s Next?
The work continues. In the next year, NVM is focused on expanding access, growing national visibility, and supporting certified clinics with tools, training, and smart marketing.
From hiring a full-time Clinical Researcher to producing new peer-reviewed studies, to launching immersive patient education resources and next-gen workflow systems. This a company scaling up to support a growing movement.
The goal? To make BVD as widely recognized as ADHD, Vertigo, and Dyslexia.
A Defining Moment
The first annual NeuroVisual Medicine Summit more than a conference – it was a call — to step in, speak up, and shape the future. It was a celebration — of how far we’ve come and what’s now possible. It was a promise — that in a field defined by care, innovation, and connection, this is just the beginning.
As one attendee put it:
“The best conference I’ve attended in 30 years.”
We couldn’t agree more.
Here’s to what’s next
